        It is a Hindu festival that celebrates the birth of Lord Krishna. lord krishna was the incarnation of supreme deity vishnu. It is celebrated with great pomp and show on the eighth day of Shravan month as per the Hindu calendar. krishna Janmashtami is an ancient festival where lord krishna is worshipped in his child form. People fast till midnight, which is believed to be the hour of his birth. Temples are decorated with flowers and banana tree leave.

As you all know that due to deadly corona virus pandemic people can't gather in form of  large group . So today we are going to talk about "how to celebrate janamasthmi at home"  with your loved ones and make the good use of your time at home.

1.Decorate house

 

we can decorate our house with flowers and clothes of colour like yellow & bright blue. we can draw little footsteps at the main gate which indcate the arrival of lord in house and draw peacock feather on the wall in house representing him presence.

2.Bathe & Dress the Idol

 

we can bathe the idol of lord krishna with milk and honey. we can dress the idol with new clothes and jewels made at our home. As lord krishna is in his child form we can place him in Jhula.    

3.Prepare snacks & sweets

 

Indian festival is incomplete without sweet and food.women of the houses can prepare prasad and some traditional snacks such as halwa and kheer. which will raise the spirits of everyone from children to elders and apart from this we can get online cake delivery from stores.

4.Organize activity

 

we can organize fun activity like dahi handi , watching cartoon movies of lord krishna and read story about his adventure and pranks. we can also organize religious activities like pooja & katha where we can read the books which contain his knowledge and wisdom.
